MIRRORS
Mirrors were used in the book to reveal something. Sometimes mirrors revealed how others saw people, such as when Hester saw her scarlet letter as her most prominent feature in the armor at the Governor's house. Mirrors also revealed truth, such as when the brook acted as a mirror to reveal Pearl's true beauty and oneness with the natural world along with her pureness.
